Giving Your Life to Christ

The Bible says that we are all sinners and we all fall short of GOD’s standard (Romans 3:23). Because we are all sinners we deserve to die an eternal death, but GOD has a gift for us that He would love for us to accept and that gift is eternal life through Jesus the Christ (Romans 6:23). Because GOD didn’t want us to die (2 Peter 3:9) He came to earth and took on the very nature of man (this is what we celebrate at Christmas time/GOD becoming man) so that He could die in our place. Jesus died to take away the sin of the world (John 1:29). After being in the grave for 3 days Jesus was resurrected back to life to show us that we too could have the hope of eternal life with Jesus.

The Bible says that we will all be resurrected to new life on the day when Jesus returns but some will choose eternal life and others will choose eternal destruction (2 Thess. 1:9).

The choice is yours!

If you choose eternal life you must confess to GOD that we are sinners and that we need a rescuer. If we confess our sin to GOD He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). In confessing we are repenting of our sin, that means we are turning away from a life of sin. We don’t want to sin anymore so we will strive to live a life that will bring glory to GOD.

Once you have asked Jesus to forgive you and are going to strive to sin no more, you believe that Jesus died to take away your sin, and you believe that Jesus is coming again to take you to be with Him for eternity, then you are born again. Once you were born of water but now you are born of the Spirit. You are now a child of GOD.

In order to maintain a relationship with Jesus it is really important that you read your Bible, pray, and attend a Bible believing fellowship where there are other followers of Jesus who will encourage you in your walk with Jesus.

May the Love of GOD be with you forever.
